Paldea: Geography & lore
Real-world inspiration and the in-game footprint.
Paldea may be a portmanteau of paradise and Arcadia (utopia) (an idyllic natural landscape), evoking the image of a rustic utopia in harmony with nature. It may also incorporate Pangaea (an ancient supercontinent), relating to the descriptions of the sprawling landscapes of the region as well as the open-world concept of the game.
Paldea is located close to Kalos, which lies just beyond its mountains.
